Buying a Home with CENTURY 21 AHR

Woman and man talking to real estate agent,Whether you're buying your first house or your tenth, the road to your dream home is smoother with the right agent on your side.

Buying a house is most likely one of the largest investments in your life. You may be tempted to go it alone, but doing so can put you at risk of stressful situations, financial missteps and even legal issues. But with a winning real estate agent on your side, you're much more likely to have an enjoyable, stress-free homebuying experience.

The right agent will be your ally, advisor and advocate in your home search. Here's what you need to know about working with a buyer's agent.

Interview us.

You're hiring someone to work for you -- do the same level of research as if you were hiring someone for your company. Feel free to ask us about how familiar we are with your area, price range and property type. Ask what qualifications and credentials our agents have.

You can read about all of our agents right here on our website. You can also see all of their current listings to see if they look like a good fit. We would also be happy to match you with an ideal fit if you call one of our offices.

Establish a buyer's agent agreement.

There are different types of relationships between buyers and buyer's agents. This helps determine whose best interest (the buyer's or the seller's) the agent is looking to represent. To avoid a conflict of interests, you are looking to sign an exclusive buyer agency agreement. It will detail all of the terms of your representative’s engagement such as compensation, services and the length of the agreement.

Know what to expect from us.

Once you've established an agreement, your agent will help you with the following items:

  • Use experience and knowledge to navigate local market conditions

  • Identify properties in your price range and selected neighborhoods, and set up tours as desired

  • Act as your advocate, negotiating on your behalf

  • Prepare standard forms and written offers

  • Assist in setting up property inspections, then advise on any repairs or improvements

  • Consult with the buyer about financing options

  • Attend the loan closing to help address any last-minute details and questions

Throughout the duration of your homebuying experience, you can expect your CENTURY 21 American Heritage Realty agent to work in your best interest to find an ideal home.
